Sharp eyes releasing giant screen LCD TV in 2004

OSAKA, Japan - Sharp Corp. President Katsuhiko Machida tells a news conference in Osaka on Jan. 9 that his company plans to introduce a 43-45 inch liquid crystal display (LCD) television set in 2004 in view of the popularity of its Aquos LCD TV set series. The Aquos currently has the biggest LCD screen, at 37 inches. Machida said Sharp is even considering introducing a 50-inch Aquos mainly for U.S. consumers.
